How to Choose Skins Width Select a width that’s only a few millimeters less than the widest part of your ski, or wider than the widest part of your ski (generally near the tip). Generally, you can choose a skin width greater than or equal to ski waist width. For example, if the widest part of your ski is 130mm you could pick a 130mm or wider climbing skin.
